AUTUMN APPLE CAKE
Ingredients

5 apples ( I like golden delicious in this recipe)
5 TBSP sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

3 cups flour
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup orange juice
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
What better way to kick off autumn than with a moist delicous Autumn Apple Cake?
This cake is lucious all year!!!

Peel apples and slice thin, or cut in about 1/2 inch chunks. (I make chunks)
Toss with the 5 TBSP sugar
and the 2 tsp cinnamon.
set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Grease and flour (or spray) bundt pan or tube pan.
Mix the remaining ingredients all together:
flour, 2 1/2 c. sugar, salt, eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla, orange juice, baking soda and baking powder. Mix thoroughly. Batter will be thick. Fold in apples. Pour into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 to
1 3/4 hours. Cool on rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
ICING OR GLAZE
~ ~ ~
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
2 TBSP soft butter or oleo
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 tsp. water
cinnamon or nutmeg to taste
(We like nutmeg)
Drizzle or spread over cake.
