The Dogs Who've Shared Our Lives
They will not go quietly,
The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
Their spirit still survives.
Old habits make us think
We hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
A tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
The food dish used to be,
And sometimes, coming home at night,
We miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
And a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.
The poem above was on a card that we received from a friend after our precious Higbee went to the Rainbow Bridge. We have it in a picture frame.
Thank you, Theresa.
I send this you all of you who have lost your friend.
If you have a picture of your dog, whether he/she is still with you, or waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, please contact me in the guestbook. I will then write to you and you can send the picture to me and I would be happy to add it to this page..
