In Memory of Kim
May 31, 1964 - October 14, 2002
.
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that is always was, let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well.

Henry Scott Holland
1847-1918

Five months ago when Kim was making funeral arrangements for Dave, her dad, she saw this reading above and picked it out to be printed in her own memorial booklet at her own funeral.. She bravely battled cancer for over 5 years. But she kept going and living life to it's fullest and took care of her dad until he passed away. Then on Sunday, Oct.13, 2002, after developing a very bad headache she was taken to the ER. Then life flighted to another hospital in the middle of the night and had brain surgery early Monday morning. She became an Angel Monday evening. The reading above 'Death is Nothing at All' printed in her memorial  was a comfort to us all at her funeral and Kim was always comforting everyone else. She did again, she comforted us. She is, and will be missed for a long time to come. Kim was Debbies and Richies best best friend for over 20 years and was like a daughter to us. Debbie is our daughter.  Kim was also the daughter of my friend, Rosemary, and the sister of Candy, our son, Ron's wife. Her other siblings are Annie and Billy. Life will not be the same for any of us without Kim in it. But she will be forever in our hearts. She will also be sadly missed by her 8 cats and 1 dog, and many, many others. There were over 50 cars in the procession going from the funeral home to the cemetery. Kim was smiling, still....
PS... Her mother has since joined her in Heaven in 2005.
