Christmas time is drawing near, A time for laughter, a time for cheer, A time of cold and snowy weather. A time when families get together.
But sometimes it's a time of worry and doubt, And we forget what Christmas is really about. We get so caught up in material things, That we lose sight of the joy this season brings.
So as we gather around the holiday table, Let us not forget about the Babe in the stable. Let us not forget the message of love and joy That was brought to us in this Baby Boy.
For God so loved us He gave us His Son, So pure and so innocent, His life just begun. His birth was announced by a star in the sky; We seem to forget its importance as the years go by.
Baby Jesus is a gift from Heaven above, Sent down to show God's perfect love. In hopes that we'd share it with all mankind; No matter what race, creed, color or design.
So when we tuck our children in bed on Christmas Eve With their minds focused on gifts they'll receive, Remind them of the Babe who lies in the hay, Who is the reason we celebrate Christmas Day.
And when Christmas Day rolls around, And you eat your cookies by the pound, Think of what this day means to you, And wish that Babe in the manger a Happy Birthday, too. |
